Torah, Avoda and Gmilut Chassadim

CJE’s adult learning program for people with disabilities is TAG. TAG stands for Torah, Avodah and Gimilut Chasadim, which means Bible study; prayer and work; and acts of kindness and goodwill. The young adults in this program meet weekly to connect to their Jewish heritage and community. This year, thanks in part to a micro grant from the Schusterman Family Foundation’s “Make It Happen” program, TAG students will participate in our new self-advocacy training program that includes Jewish values and connection to the Jewish Community.  This program will add to TAG’s core Jewish learning experience. TAG students are also involved with the community in the form of a “chavurah” or learning partnership with residents of Weinberg Park Assisted Living.
