Spring - Summer 2018 Early Childhood Workshops

Register now for Sping-Summer 2018 early childhood workshops hosted at the Center for Jewish Education, in partnership with the Baltimore City Child Care Resource Center (BCCCRC). Early childhood educators will learn, connect and collaborate with their colleagues in these engaging workshops. All workshops are MSDE-approved. Build Your Resilience
In this workshop participants will learn how to improve resilience in their personal and professional lives. By improving resilience factors, you will be able to cope better with or recover from change, loss, adversity, and mistakes, as well as have the skills to bounce back from adverse situations.

Summer Science Activities for Preschool Children (NEW)
Summer is an ideal time to explore many science concepts. Flowers are in bloom, bees are gathering nectar, and animals have awoken from their sleep. This workshops explores the importance of science in the preschool classroom and looks at science activities that are related to summer.

Basic Health and Safety
This class satisfies the MSDE training requirement. This is the "core" Basic Health and Safety class that all early childhood  educators must take; this is *not* the annual update.
In order to be in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Federal Child Care Development Block Grant all individuals working in child care must complete this course. The Basic Health and Safety Training will cover ten specific topic areas as identified by the CCDBG regulations.

Exploring Social Studies Concepts with Children’s Literature
Young children are naturally curious about the people and places in their world, this desire to learn about their world is what social studies is all about. Creating a learning environment that encourages exploration of our world and its people is an important component of early education. Children’s literature that focuses on the various concepts of social studies is an ideal catalyst to help children learn about the world and its peoples.

Know, Teach, Love: Preschool: Part 1 (New)
In this workshop, which is based on the principles of social emotional learning, participants will learn the importance of program planning and how to use developmentally appropriate guidelines to plan effectively. Strategies will be explored on how to understand and meet the needs of individual children.

Math Activities Using Children’s Literature
