CJE Family Engagement Mission

STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES FOR FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

MISSION
The Louise D. and Morton J. Macks Center for Jewish Education aspires to be a catalyst for the Jewish growth of families.  We endeavor to inspire and motivate parents and children to connect with Jewish learning, Jewish living and Jewish community by creating innovative, substantive educational experiences that speak to the real lives of modern families.

VISION
Our community will be one in which all families are engaged in Jewish learning and Jewish living.  We will be a place where all families, connected in meaningful ways to one another, are empowered to play an active role in shaping their own Jewish lives.

VALUES
We believe that educational engagement initiatives should be:

  • Accessible: We create low-barrier entry points for families.
  • Substantive: We develop experiential opportunities for families that are rich in content.
  • Nurturing: We support the Jewish growth of families.
  • Impactful: We teach relevant big ideas that can make a difference in the real lives of families today.
  • Relational: We encourage families to connect with each other.
  • Inclusive: We invite the participation of families situated anywhere on the spectrum of Jewish connectivity and practice.
  • Joyful: We stimulate positive emotional associations with Jewish living and learning.
