EDUCATOR RECOGNITION

It takes strong leaders from this generation to prepare the strong leaders of tomorrow. Jewish educators in Baltimore are committed to teaching our youth now to ensure a bright Jewish future. In their continued pursuit of professional excellence, these teachers are wonderful role models for their students. We at CJE take great pride in their accomplishments as they enhance their teaching skills and abilities through ongoing professional development.

Special congratulations to the teachers in our affiliated schools who pursued coursework to attain certificates and licenses! We recognized their achievements in person at the Educator Award Ceremony at the CJE Annual Meeting May 24, and we want to share their names and honors here as well.

Join the ranks of certified and licensed teachers by taking coursework in education and Judaic studies to earn recognition, arrival bonuses, possible salary supplements and raises. Contact Sara Rotenberg at 410-735-5020 or srotenberg@cjebaltimore.org for further information.

The Grinspoon-Steinhardt Awards for Excellence in Jewish Education provide an opportunity for teachers to receive national recognition as well as institutional and local appreciation for their craft. The recipients of the awards will each receive a total of $2,500, of which $1,000 will be a cash prize for each educator to use as he or she sees fit. The remaining $1,500 is earmarked to offset the cost of the educator’s participation in a significant professional development program. At the local level, CJE confers three outstanding educator awards. These awardees are also our nominees for the national Grinspoon-Steinhardt Awards.
